In 1924, brothers Rudolf and Adi Dassler founded the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory in Germany. In 1948, the two brothers parted ways, and each went on to establish his own line of performance shoes and clothing. Adi created adidas, and Rudolf founded PUMA.
